Next to the home, a child’s school is perhaps the most powerful influence on a young child’s life and we believe school life must be a partnership between the child’s home and school.
The school aims to keep parents informed by providing half-termly curriculum newsletters. These outline the skills and concepts being covered and areas where parents can support their child’s learning. There is a homework policy and each year group informs the parents of the structure and format at the start of the year. The school also produces a regular newsletter to report on school activities and to highlight forth coming events and achievements.
Each term there are Parent Consultations which gives formal opportunities for parents to come and speak with the teacher about their child’s progress. We actively encourage children to also be a part of that dialogue. An annual written report is sent out in the Summer term which summarises the child's progress and achievements for that year.
The school has an open door policy where parents are encouraged to maintain a dialogue with the school. The Governors also take an active role in home school liaison and are always keen to maintain a dialogue with parents.
